We Talk to Writer Tim Sheridan about Superman: Man Of Tomorrow, Masters of the Universe, and Transformers: War for Cyberton.
Thanks to the power of social media, writer Tim Sheridan and I became fast friends because were just two super fanboys. Sheridan penned Superman: Man Of Tomorrow, which was nominated for Film of the Year in the first annual Critics’ Choice Super Awards and I publicly gave it my vote during The Countdown to the Critics’ Choice Super Awards on KTLA Channel 5 in the Southern California market.
Sheridan tagged FanboyNation on a tweet and the rest as you say is history in setting up this interview.
For those of you unfamiliar with Sheridan’s work beyond Superman: Man Of Tomorrow, he has worked on Justice League Action, Reign of the Supermen, Scooby-Doo! and the Gourmet Ghost. On top of that he’s now working on books for DC Comics like Shazam! and Teen Titans.
Sheridan and I got to crack some jokes about what our love of 1980s cartoons, which lead him into his chosen career, how Transformers: The Movie (the good one from 1986) left every kid in that theater a wreck and how they had to hammer in the point that not only was Optimus Prime dead, HE FADED TO GREY! We also talk about how it feels to be working with Netflix on an extension of the Generation One Transformers in Transformers: War for Cybertron, a new Masters of the Universe mini-series in pre-production and what other properties he would love to dip his quill in.
We even discuss his husband, who is a die hard Marvel fan…real Marvel stuff, not just the movies, going to a Star Trek convention when we can finally gather again and a whole host of other fun and goofy stuff. He even reveals a big secret about Producer Jim Krieg that you will have to watch and see.
