With Avengers: Age of Ultron not even in US theaters for a week, production begins today on Captain America: Civil War. The latest Marvel film by Joe and Anthony Russo has such a massive and expansive cast, it could be confused for another Avengers movie. In today’s announcement that production was getting underway in Atlanta, tiny nuggets of news were first dispensed. The most shocking of all, Paul Rudd will be appearing as Ant-Man in Civil War, marking the character first venture out of the safe confines of his own film.

After his debut in Marvel’s “Ant-Man” on July 17, 2015, Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man,” ”Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”) will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in “Captain America: Civil War.”
Another little nugget buried within the massive casting announcement is the return of John Hurt as General Ross. This marks the character’s first appearance in a Marvel movie since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, but also the first time that an actor will be reprising their role from that film. Hurt is reenlisting in the Marvel Universe, joining a cast that makes up pretty much every Marvel character in existence.
