Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect, next-gen console availability, and new features are now available. Plus the next Avengers has been announced
Today during Square Enix Presents, numerous announcements for Marvel’s Avengers were announced. The biggest reveal, in my opinion, was the next Avenger being added to the game, Black Panther. I say this is the biggest reveal because this is something we didn’t know was coming. We don’t have an exact date for the Black Panther content, but it will be this year (2021). The other announcements, which are now available, are:
Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect
Clint Barton brings his unique talents to the game at no cost to owners of the core game on all platforms. In addition to a new playable Super Hero and the new chapter in the game’s ongoing Avengers Initiative story, Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect also introduces a powerful new villain: Maestro, a version of the Hulk driven mad in an apocalyptic future with Bruce Banner’s brains and Hulk’s strengths and abilities. Next-Gen Availability
Marvel’s Avengers is now available on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Players who own the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game can upgrade to the full next-gen version at no additional cost and transfer their saved game to retain their progress. The upgrade is elgible from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and will support Smart Delivery for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. Upgrading from the PlayStation 4 disc version requires a PlayStation 5 console with disc drive. Upgrading from Xbox One disc version requires Xbox Series X console. [via Square Enix]
Reassemble Campaign Replay and Custom H.A.R.M. Rooms
In addition to the new playable Super Hero, villain, and story content, the latest update to Marvel’s Avengers brings with it two new features: Reassemble Campaign Replay and an entirely new customizable HARM Room. Reassemble Campaign Replay, a frequently requested addition from fans, will allow players to reset their Reassemble campaign progress and play the content again from the beginning while preserving their Hero progression. The new customizable HARM Room allows players to tailor their experience by choosing the number and type of enemies they face, environmental hazards, and combat bonuses to push their skills to the limit. While I’m sure many of us are hyped about the new content, but with the increased grinding announced I’m weary to pick up my sticks. I still have hope for the game, hoping they start listening to the fans to improve the mechanics because the potential is there. But making increasing the grind factor just highlights a lot of the game’s weaker elements and makes players question the ROI of time and effort. We’ll see what happens.
