I have loved every Marvel Cinematic Universe film released so far. Some more than others, but they’ve all been fun action movies easily rewatchable on DVD/Blu-Ray. It’s a great time to be a comic fan, with more movies based on comics coming to the big screen than any other time in the history of film. If you had told 14-year-old me that I would be seeing Doctor Strange in the theater in my lifetime I would have laughed my ass off and probably had you institutionalized. But here we are.
Filming has been progressing in the UK for a while now, and Periscope user Sanford Dickert captured these set photos giving us our first real glimpse of star Benedict Cumberbatch in the iconic Doctor Strange cape. As much as I love Cumberbatch (That name alone is glorious) I was worried he was the wrong choice to play the Master of the Mystic Arts. That worry is all but gone now. These shots also show what looks to be Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo. What a time to be alive.

Doctor Strange is in theaters on November 4th.
In a Sherlock-centric continuation of Marvel film news, Empire has confirmed what we had already expected; Martin Freeman will portray Everette Ross, the State Department official with an eye on Wakanda in Captain America: Civil War. The photo of Freeman alongside Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter and German S.W.A.T. team members confirms that Cap is making a return trip to Germany. Empire has also released a few images from the film that feature better looks at Frank Grillo as Crossbones and Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6th.
And in less Sherlock-centric but still Marvel-centric news, actress Elizabeth Henstridge has confirmed that Agent Ward has become the Hive on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. While discussing the show at Wizard World Portland the actress said, “…and now Ward is Hive and takes on the memories of people he’s killed, so that’s going to have some interesting situations.” So the mid-season finale left Ward possessed by genetically modified parasites that give him incredible power, making him the embodiment of Hydra.
