The B-Reel is where I comb the internet for television and film news, and collect the best bits all in one place. I do this so that you don’t have to. Now, on to the news.
As of last season’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finale, and agent Ward’s traitorous ways, agents Fitz (Iain De Caesteker) and Simmons’ (Elizabeth Henstridge) relationship has been a bit, well, complicated. Simmons ran off to infiltrate HYDRA, and Fitz was left broken and confused. This new clip from next week’s episode shows the tensions finally coming to a head.
The Hollywood Reporter tells us that CBS has “handed out a script commitment to an untitled drama” to be executive produced by NCIS: Los Angeles’ Shane Brennan. The article goes on to say, “The untitled entry, written by writing duo J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani (Anchorwoman), centers on four agents who go undercover as the perfect family for an operation that has them rooting out dangerous criminals in the suburbs while becoming an unlikely family at the same time.” But here’s where it gets interesting:
“The project is based on the upcoming Top Cow Productions comic book Family Affair by Lavin, Damiani and Matt Hawkins. Top Cow topper Marc Silvestri and Hawkins will serve as co-exec producers.”
The first issue of Family Affair is finished, according to Hawkins on the Bleeding Cool forums, just not published yet.
In the same thread on the Bleeding Cool forums Hawkins also commented, “We’ve been trying to get The Darkness going for awhile. It’s at New Regency over on the Fox lot now. ” So that’s news.
