This certainly isn’t unexpected. With the Season 3 premiere date less than 2 months away, Netflix has proudly announced that they’ve already renewed Orange is the New Black for a fourth season that will air in 2016. Of course, this is hardly surprising as OITNB has been one of the flagship series for the streaming service. In conjunction with the announcement of the renewal, Netflix has also unveiled a new clip from the third season of the prison comedy-drama which hits the streaming service on June 12, 2015.
Here’s the announcement from Netflix:
Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes, Taystee, Poussey, Sophia, Nicky, Daya, Gloria, Big Boo, Pennsatucky and all of Litchfield’s ladies are back for more drama and laughter…as Alex makes her return and a new inmate, Stella (Ruby Rose) joins the gang.
And there will be more! Netflix today announced that there will be a season four of the series, coming exclusively to Netflix in 2016.
Orange is the New Black has garnered more than 20 awards including three Emmy Awards, two SAG Awards, two AFI honors, three Critic’s Choice Television Awards, one NAACP Image Award, one PGA Award, two GLAAD Media Awards, and is a recipient of a Peabody Award and a Television Critics’ Association (TCA) Award. Viewers can catch up on Seasons 1 and 2 exclusively on Netflix at netflix.com/OITNB.
