Nier: Automata Brings Its Post-Apocalyptic World to the West on March 7th
Nier: Automata Collector’s Edition Features Android 2B Figurine, Artbook and Soundtrack; Consumer Demo Coming Soon
Being in America, I feel we miss out on a lot of video game variety. Unless you’re part of the master race and go crazy during Steam sales, you’re pretty much limited to huge blockbuster shooter and sports games in America. Sure there’s an occasional platformer, but generally, the games widdle down shooters and sports. This includes games like Skyrim which is a medieval shooter, and Dark Souls which is a medieval 3rd person shooter. Don’t get me wrong these games are fun, but how many games are pretty much a few elements away from each other. Japan has a much wider variety and very unique takes on genres. Usually, if they do well in Japan, we get them here, like Devil May Cry and Lost Planet. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of games in Japan that we wouldn’t like, but their developers seem to take more risks and don’t focus on making something based on something that is already working. Which brings us to Nier: Automata. This game looks monstrous! I love games where you take on giant monsters, it’s why I loved Lost Planet 2 so much. Something about taking on things that are way bigger than you creates unique gameplay that completely makes you come up with different strategies and not work on your thumbstick aiming. The game and release date was announced by Square Enix at Playstation Experience this past weekend. Here’s all the details from Square Enix:
