In partnership with Ubisoft, we are getting Netflix Assassin’s Creed live-action series adaption of hit video game franchise
Live-action video game adaptations have been a mixed bag, to say the least. I think a series is definitely the best way to capture the expansive stories, and with a deep franchise like Assassin’s Creed, I think this could be a hit. Netflix and Ubisoft are teaming up to bring us an Assassin’s Creed live-action series, and potentially animated and anime content as well.
We don’t have a date for production to start, cast list, showrunner, or anything like that, but the deal has been made. So, be excited and tune in because we’ll keep you updated as we find out more. For all the information, check out the official press release below:
Hollywood, Calif. — October 27, 2020 — Netflix today announced it has entered into an agreement with Ubisoft to develop content based on the international best-selling video game franchise Assassin’s Creed. The first series in development is slated to be an epic, genre-bending live action adaptation; a search is currently underway for a showrunner. Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as Executive Producers.
Under the agreement, Netflix and Ubisoft will tap into the iconic video game’s trove of dynamic stories with global mass appeal for adaptations of live action, animated, and anime series.
