Although no her first completed film, ‘Desperation Road‘ is Nadine Crocker’s first released film through Lionsgate starring Mel Gibson, Garrett Hedlund and Willa Fitzgerald, in an incredible Southern Gothic tale.
Taking place in a tiny Mississippi town, the law and justice are not always on the same side. Crocker brings to life this adaptation based on the novel by Michael Farris Smith, who also penned the screenplay.
Families do their best to save safe and keep all their secrets locked away, no matter the cost, especially when whiskey, guns and the desire for revenge violently intersect.
We spoke with Crocker who’s previously completed film, ‘Continue’ is awaiting a release date about working with Gibson, Fitzgerald and Hedlund, how Lionsgate has been supportive in the release of this independent film and what it was like working with Smith on his own adaptation of his novel.
Crocker’s use of natural light and having the small down be a character unto the story itself adds to thriller aspect of the film. Audiences will see for themselves just how important the scenery is when comes to this picture.
