Marvel and Nerdist Team to Bring 29-Hour Marvel Marathon to Theathers

GameStop, Inc.

If you have 29 hours to kill through April 20th – 21st, Nerdist and Marvel are uniting to bring a non-stop marathon of all the Marvel Studios films. A cinematic odyssey that will begin with 2008’s Iron Man and conclude with Age of Ultron, the marathon will occur at a number of theaters across the country. Tickets include certain snack and meal deals, which might alleviate some concern about being trapped in a theater with someone whose diet consists solely of Panda Express and Fluffernutters, who is dozing off and snoring loudly during the first Thor, and loudly recites their favorite lines from Guardians of the Galaxy.

But, hey, if this something that you wanna subject yourself to, tickets are now on sale. Here’s the entire press release:

*Anaheim, Calif. (April 5, 2015)* –As announced today by Chris Hardwick at the Nerdist Panel at WonderCon Anaheim, Nerdist Industries will present The Ultimate Marvel Marathon, at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood brought to you by Cheez-It™ and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats™. This epic event will showcase all 11 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, culminating with the highly anticipated Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The ticketed event starts at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, and ends after the 8:30 p.m. showing on Tuesday, April 21. Chris Hardwick and other Nerdist talent will host the event with help from special guests expected to appear throughout the 29-hour engagement.

Attendees who see all 11 films will receive an exclusive commemorative poster and will be entered in a drawing for two tickets to Marvel’s “Ant-Man” world premiere. All guests will receive a commemorative event credential and will be treated to meals, Cheez-It™ crackers and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats™, plus other snacks, including popcorn served in a souvenir 130 oz. metal popcorn tub. There will be an out-of-this-world costume contest, plus fun raffles and giveaways between films.

“In 1990, Kevin Feige and I were both at an all-day ‘Back to the Future’ trilogy screening where they showed films one and two and then premiered part three for fans die hard enough to wait in line for MANY HOURS, which we were. After exchanging e-mails with Kevin, we agreed that it was time to do this with the Marvel films,” said Chris Hardwick. “This Ultimate Marvel Marathon will be an experience that Marvel super fans will remember for the rest of their lives, just as we did with ‘Back to the Future.’ And getting to see Ultron first? What true Nerd doesn’t love to see a movie before anyone else? Marvel fans, ASSEMBLE!”

Tickets for the event are $70 per person and are available now through elcapitantickets.com, 1-800-DISNEY6 or at the theater box office.
