Maidreamin Makes Their US Debut at Anime Expo 2016
Maid cafe idol group Maidreamin bring Akihabara Culture to Anime Expo 2016
If you weren’t at Anime Expo this past weekend, which seems impossible because it packed, you probably got to check out Maidreamin. If you didn’t, Maidreamin is a Maid Cafe restaurant in Akihabara, Japan. They opened up a pop-up shop at Anime Expo to share their unique and world class dining experience with us here in the states. The experience was represented by 3 of the top maids, Mariru, Hinata, and Ayame.
Maid Cafes are not like Vietnamese Coffee Shops, for those under that assumption. Maid Cafes are more about the service and entertainment rather than… uhm… “aesthetics.” The lovely ladies had performances throughout the day at the cafe as well as a live show during the AX2016 opening ceremony stage. They also performed at Crunchyroll’s booth and interacted with fans throughout the convention, entertaining everyone with great enthusiasm! They also had people laughing with dialogue full of Kawaii Moe Moe words.
Although Anime Expo is over, I think we’ll start to see more of the ladies as Anime and Japanese Culture continues to grow in the US. They were a huge hit at the expo, and definitely have a huge market of fans.
