A few months ago at WonderCon 2019, I had the honor of meeting and interviewing Tom Bilyeu. Long story short, his passion blew me away. Tom co-founded Quest Nutrition (a billion-dollar company) and instead of staying, he decided to leave and start his own publishing company, Impact Theory. Despite how many people told him he was crazy, Tom believes that comics are a perfect medium to empower people. Starting with Neon Future, (a comic book collaboration with world renown DJ, Steve Aoki), Tom wants to show people that they are capable of doing more and wants to touch the lives of billions of people. Check out the interview here.
At San Deigo Comic-Con 2019, I had the pleasure of interviewing Tom again along with Eisner Award Winner, Jim Krueger. Jim won the Eisner Award and was a New York Times Bestseller for writing Justice for DC comics. He has also written the story the Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks video game and won the Satellite Award for Best Action/Adventure Vid. I had a ton of fun enjoying Jim and Tom. It’s easy to see how passionate Tom is with the comic while Jim was calm, cool and collective the entire time. Just don’t mind me being awkward.

Neon Future has become one of my favorite comics. It’s a shame it’s only a six-issue series because I would love to see Jim go more in-depth on the characters, the development of the law, or even a write spin-off series. Fortunately, Tom did reveal there will be a second arc. So I’m excited to see how the story continues.
On August 14, 2019, the final issue of Neon Future will release and the Volume 1 trade paperback (issues #1-6) will arrive at retailers on October 2nd. The comics are available for online purchase here.
