Hollywood is coming to Netflix May 1st from the minds of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan
Netflix has been kind of raised the bar on content. I mean 6 Underground and Extraction are definitely on the upper tiers of action movies. Ozark! We don’t even have to include Tiger King… but I did for word count. So, I’m pretty intrigued about anything they’re doing. Throw in Ryan Murphy and I am doing everything in my power to see this series early. Hollywood is coming to Netflix this Friday, May 1st. This limited series comes from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, who also created Scream Queens. I loved Scream Queens, and I’m sure I will love Hollywood.
The series focuses on the film industry in the years right after WWII. Which, if you know anything about it, was a pretty messed up time. While the industry was hell-bent on promoting wholesome programs and personas, those in charge were most assuredly not. The series looks like it will cover a lot of that using their versions of the actual people involved. So there will be sex, race, sexuality, and all the controversies of the time, which oddly don’t feel too different from a lot of issues now.
