Halo 5: Guardians – Ghosts of Meridian and Warzone Firefight Beta

In this week’s livestream on Twitch, we were given a little insight into things to expect in the coming months as well as shown the contents of the new patch, Ghosts of Meridian. One of the smaller details that were revealed was the new addition of weather variants into Forge, something the community has been looking forward to for quite some time. 343 has always been quite responsive to what the community has to say as they are now also refreshing Torque, Riptide, and Overgrowth by changing around weapon and stronghold placements which they will be testing in the upcoming weeks. They are also asking for more community input on what to do with Empire, especially in the Capture the Flag version of that map.

GHOSTS OF MERIDIAN PATCH

Ghosts of Meridian is now live and with it come two brand new maps in Tyrant and Skirmish at Darkstar. There are seven new power weapon and vehicle variants with two Suppressors, three Gravity Hammers including the new legendary Tartarus’ Gavel, and a legendary Hannibal variant for each the Scorpion and Mantis. There are thirty-three new REQs in total, with several new Permanent REQs including two new assassinations, armor and weapon skins, and more. WARZONE FIREFIGHT BETA APRIL 14TH-18TH
Perhaps the biggest new is the announcement of the open beta for the Warzone Firefight game type that was shown during the Halo World Championships. The beta will start at 10 AM on Thursday, April 14th and end 10 AM on Monday, April 18th. Warzone Firefight will team you up with up to seven other players to combat NPCs and clear objectives over five rounds. The rounds are also set against a timer and will grow increasingly hard as you progress. You will only be able to play on the Escape from A.R.C. map for the duration of the beta, unfortunately, you will have to wait until later on this year to play the full map selection.

LIMITED TIME REQ PACK

The perfect little cherry on top of all of this is the release of the Mythic Warzone REQ Pack. It is only available for one week, starting next Thursday along with the release of the Warzone Firefight Beta, and will run through the next week until Thursday, April 21st. The pack will contain ten Mythic one-time-use power weapon REQ, and one Ultra Rare or Legendary vehicle or weapon to use in any Warzone map.
