What was your first Cosplay Experience?
My first convention was actually the very first Comikaze Expo back in 2011 or 2010 I think? I was really young, and cosplayed Coraline! I had a really cute, horrendous wig and everything. It was sort of overwhelming, seeing everyone in these beautiful costume pieces and seeing how proud they were. It’s such a wonderful feeling to now be one of those people!
How long have you been Cosplaying?
For about 5 years, but I’ve only started improving these past two or three!
What is your favorite cosplay you have worn/created?
That’s like choosing my favorite child! In all seriousness, probably my Raven cosplay. She has so many fun accessories to play with, and I’m a sucker for long flow-y capes! I definitely feel most confident in her, which is awesome considering that body positivity is hard to come by. She is a powerful, tough as nails lady and I love being able to feel that through cosplay.
If you had unlimited resources, what Cosplay would you create?
A Gwen Stacey Spiderwoman cosplay no doubt. I’ve been sort of falling into the superhero cosplay craze and her outfit is so interesting! That or something super crazy and unrealistic. Like someone from League of Legends… Ooooh.
What advice would you offer others trying to break into Cosplay?
We all start somewhere! Nothing will be 100% amazing your very first time, but trial and error has helped us learn and get where we all are today!
