Bee and Puppycat is not something every reader will understand. In fact, most people who aren’t creator Natasha Allegri may find themselves scratching their head at the odd cuteness of an indiscernible cat/dog creature. Armed with her new Puppy Cat, young and unemployed Bee, must learn to adjust to her new life and the random inter-dimensional temp jobs she is now getting thanks to her pet. Unfortunately, the strange computer temp agent calls Bee while she is not only in embarrassing pajamas but also to tell her of an unhappy client.
Natasha Allegri’s comic is highly stylized to be adorable and somewhat random. Bee is flighty and busy adjusting to her new lifestyle. Puppy Cat is smarter than Bee, by kitten-like leaps and bounds, but seems to only be understood by Bee and those in her alternate universe.
Bee and Puppy Cat #1 picks up where the Cartoon Hangover’s Youtube video series leaves off and bridges the gap while more episodes are created. For fans of the show, the comic is a delight. For those who have not experienced the sing-song magic of a Puppycat, the comic may be a bit confusing.
