Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition – Review
Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition is the premiere edition gamers can get of Batman: Arkham Knight. Along with the physical copy of the game, those who get the limited edition will also receive:
- Custom Art Book – 80 Page, Full Color Art Book Showcasing the concept art of Batman Arkham Knight
- Limited Edition Steel Book – Unique Steel Book case and game disc
- Comic Book – Limited Edition DC Comics Batman: Arkham Knight #0 Comic Book
- Exclusive Character Skin Pack – Three Unique Skins from DC Comics – The New 52
- Batman Memorial Statue – Imposing statue commemorating Gotham’s Protector, the Dark Knight
Batman: Arkham Knight continues the franchise’s amazing reputation to deliver an incredible story, beautiful art, and in my opinion the only gameplay that truly captures a super hero’s essence since Spider-Man 2 introduced web swinging. I will not be reviewing the game here, but I had to mention it. The DLC that comes with the game is okay… mainly just some extra costumes which really do nothing to enhance the gameplay. But the Steel Book, Art Book, and Statue are glorious.
The Steel Book case is a bit unnecessary as the game actually comes in the standard edition case. So if put the game in the steel case, you are left with an extra case. This doesn’t take anything away from the set as a whole, but as someone with a slightly increasing case of OCD, it is puzzling. The artbook features concept art and other great pieces from the game. It provides a great contrast from paper to game, and also serves to show the amazing transformation the game goes through. Lastly, the statue. It is an amazing piece of art, from the box to the fact that it lights up. It is a fitting memorial, but kind of impractical and unrealistic (in terms of pose) compared to the one in The Dark Knight Rises. My only qualm with the statue is that it is a huge SPOILER ALERT. How do you give the gamer an item that reveals the conclusion of the game before they are able to play it. I mean technically you could play the game before unpacking everything, but who is really going to do that? They did the same thing with the Arkham Origins Limited Edition, but at least they provided a spoiler alert warning.
Batman: Arkham Knigt Limited Edition is a must have for fans of the franchise. This is potentially the last in the Arkham series and it is a fitting memorial to one of the greatest super hero/gaming franchises. Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition is available on Amazon and other major retailers.
The Verdict
Summary
A great addition to one of my favorite franchises. However it’s not as cool as the Arkham Origins Collector’s Edition or the origina Arkham Asylum Batarang Collector’s Edition.
