Warning. Spoilers ahead.
Last night’s episode was by far one of my favorite episodes this season and an awesome prologue for the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow. My biggest worry with the episode was how they were going to balance two different casts in one episode. Surprisingly, they did an amazing job with dialogue and flow of the episode. Right from the very beginning in the kitchen the characters were bouncing off ideas off each other, working with one another, and there wasn’t an awkward moment. Now with so many characters in one episode, it was inevitable that some characters were not going to get as much screen time as others, but with how action packed the episode was I doubt many noticed. Everything from Oliver Queen finding out he is a father, Barry Allen traveling back in time, Kendra Saunders recovering her past, and the twist at the end makes me excited for Legends of Tomorrow. I only wish that Kendra chose to fight against destiny and go for Cisco Ramon instead of Carter Hall, but this is due to my attachment with the old Justice League cartoon show.
Focusing on the Arrow aspect of the crossover episodes, Queen faces a situation he has never faced before, fatherhood. Due to Queen’s lack of focus during the first attempt to defeat Vandal Savage, everything went wrong and Savage won (I will admit that for some reason watching Queen and everyone else be incinerated was one one of my favorite scenes). It would not be wrong to say that Queen discovering he has a son will affect him in future missions and his relationship with Felicity Smoak. It’s disappointing to see Queen go back to keeping secrets again when that has never went well for him. Based upon pretty much the whole show, Queen’s secret is bound to be discovered and it will be interesting to see how this plays out. It still bothers me that Oliver’s son is okay that some random man he has never met before wants to visit him once a week, but with how great this episode was I can let it go.

Great episode that sets up the upcoming series Legends of Tomorrow.
