Ever since Karen Berger left Vertigo it seems as if the imprint has been forgotten by those at DC Comics, or at least left to smolder and burn out. Other than American Vampire, C0ffin Hill, FBP, and a few others, including the originally published by Wildstorm Astro City and the sequel series Sandman Overture, Vertigo’s output has shrunken quite a bit since its heyday.
Today looks to change that though, as twelve new Vertigo titles were announced at San Diego Comic-Con. There will be a new #1 each week for twelve weeks featuring some of the biggest names in the industry, as well as some up-and-comers, including indie darling Gilbert Hernandez, the Silver Age’s biggest fan Darwyn Cooke, the ginchy Mike Allred, Vertigo mainstay Peter Milligan, Future Comic Rock Stars Meghan Hetrick and Mitch Gerads, and comics’ real Wonder Woman Gail Simone amongst others. And we’ve got the covers and creative teams right here, for those of you that couldn’t make it. Vertigo’s back, baby!
