Title: Teen Titans #18
Writer: Greg Pak
Artist(s): Tom Derenick and Ian Churchill
Release Date: March 23, 2016
In Teen Titans #18, we finally find out what happens to Wonder Girl’s father and her origins as the demi-goddess, her aunt Cassandra teleported her and most of the Teen Titans leaving Red Robin and Wonder Woman to find the young heroine.
We find that Lennox ripped out Cassandra’s throat for commanding 40 mortals to kill each other. It was the first born son of Zeus who helped kill Wonder Girl’s father and create these further problems for mortals and gods alike as they search for the Rod of Asclepius, the god of Medicine, who will help them heel.
Grek Pak’s story is a little wonky. He’s a very good writer, but it read like a 1970s comic where the middle-aged adults wrote how they thought teens spoke. The writing sounds like the way I used to when I would make fun of my students when I was teaching. Ian Churchill and Tom Derenick have done some great things throughout their careers and with Norm Rapmund and Art Theibert finishing their work, it only makes it that much more exciting.
Teen Titans 18 is out today online and at your local comic shop.

The story is a little wonky, but the art is amazing.
