Nintendo has announced that the next iteration of the Yo-kai Watch series hits this fall. On September 30th, Yo-kai Watch 2 hits U.S. shores in not one but two different versions: Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits. Once again developed by LEVEL-5, Yo-kai Watch 2 features over 100 new yo-kai, more areas to explore, a new Yo-kai Watch, and a time-traveling DeLorean. Well, maybe not a DeLorean, but you can travel through time. Both versions of Yo-kai Watch 2 will feature yo-kai exclusive to each version.
In addition to the sequel, Disney XD will show season two of the Yo-kai Watch anime starting this summer. Season one of the anime will arrive on DVD later this year, but for those anxious to catch the yo-kai craze can stream the entire first season right now on Netflix.
Hasbro will release a new wave of Yo-kai Watch toys coming this fall. Based on Nate’s watch from the upcoming season two, the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero will feature Yo-motion technology. Kids can insert a new Yo-Motion Yo-kai Medal and project an animation of that particular yo-kai. In addition to the new watch, Hasbro will also release custom Yo-kai Watch accessories, plushes and electronic figures. Later this year fans will also be able to collect and trade yo-kai in the Yo-kai Watch Trading Card Game.
