A welterweight champion will be crowned tonight as Armenia’s Karapet Karapetyan faces Belgium’s Marc De Bonte.
De Bonte dances his way to the ring first, while Karapetyan charges the ring like a bull on a mission. The look of determination on the Armenian’s face shows the desire to be a champion. This title fight is five, three-minute rounds of what is expected to bring down the house!
This is for all the Glory as both men are slow to engaged, but Karapetyan is attempting to distract De Bonte with front leg. De Bonte strikes first to to Karpetyan’s front leg and hands are thrown. Both men appear to respect each other and know what’s at stake, the title of welterweight champion!
Every time Karapetyan strikes De Bonte answers and vice versaas round one comes to an end, De Bonte strikes with a combination to Karapetyan’s head.
Round two is underway and Karapetyan is finally using the lead left leg, delivering a flurry of side kicks to De Bonte. After an exchange of punches, Karapetyan accidentally splits the uprights, giving De Bonte a chance to readjust before continuing with the round. De Bonte delivers a deafening overhand right as Karapetyan answers with a stomp kick.
Karapetyan has a fantastic right hand, but De Bonte’s able to withstand it and finish the round on his feet.
No one has fully let go in the third, but we’re sure if they do, there will be a guaranteed knockout. The third has been the slowest but most calculating round of the fight thus far, but far from boring as both men continue to exchange blows.
Karapetyan is tripped in the fourth round, but pops to his feet quickly. There is no hesitation this time around as both fighters finally let their hands fly! Karapetyan’s leg is swept twice more towards the ends of the fourth round, taking us into the fifth and final round for the welterweight title.
All bets are off as Karapetyan comes out swinging and has been tied up twice by De Bonte, who is now evading the hands of the Armenian. De Bonte was evading Karapetyan’s advances until he was tripped by the aggressor. This final round can easily be called for Karapetyan but that doesn’t seem to matter as De Bonte believes he’s won more rounds through this fight.
it now goes to the score cards and your winner by split-decision and NEW GLORY WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD — MARC DE BONTE!!!
