Eagle Eyes TV Kit review – Feel the difference and get a better night sleep by protecting your eyes with Eagle Eyes Glasses

Eagle Eyes

After officially becoming near-sighted and almost failing my driver’s eye test sans glasses, I have meticulously been taking steps to prevent further damage and hopefully improve my eyesight. As cool as Matt Murdock makes being blind look -that sounds wrong- I don’t think I want to know what it’s like to live without sight. I’m taking supplements specifically for eyesight, I eat carrots a lot more, and I paid extra to have blue blocker lenses put into my prescription glasses. However, my new prescription is incredibly strong and I prefer not to use them at work as the increased prescription gives me a headache and often causes my eyes to water. Thankfully, I now have a set of Eagle Eyes.

The Eagle Eyes TV Kit glasses are my third pair of blue blocker glasses. Each set prior have been effective and provided a noticeable difference in eye strain. However, due to my uncommonly large head, and having finally been introduced to set of frames that actually fit my head, using a smaller set of frames causes me a headache that often offsets the eye protection. I rather deal with eyestrain than the temple pain/headache of smaller frames. The Eagle Eyes TV Kit glasses are also a bit small. Objectively, they’re fairly large at 146mm, but I need at least 150mm to be comfortable (152mm is perfect). However, the TV Kit frame is extremely light and the squeeze around my temples is very light; it’s as if the frames have already been stretched out through months of wear. While it is not the fit I would prefer, it is a very comfortable fit for being a bit small on my head. This doesn’t really affect my overall review as I feel it is unfair to consider it as it does not affect 99% of the population, but for you other mondo domers like myself, it’s good information to have. I do want to add, of my blue blocker glasses, my Eagle Eyes glasses are the only ones I have worn daily and throughout the entire work day.

Eagle Eyes are the most immediately and noticeably effective blue blocker glasses I have. On the first night, I immediately noticed it was much easier to fall asleep, and my quality of sleep was overall better. This sounds like a bold claim but protecting your eyes from blue light reduces the melatonin your body produces and your body no longer fights to keep itself awake during odd hours. It’s incredible how much more relaxed and at ease my eyes are even after 12+ hour work days. Eagle Eyes makes the effect of blue light on your eyes, body, and mind incredibly apparent and will have you wondering why you’ve tortured yourself for so long.

The TV Kit set I have also comes with additional magnetic clip-on lenses to adjust to daylight and night time. Personally, at night I switch to my prescription glasses, as that’s when I need them, but the sunglasses option is a very useful set to switch to when walking around outside. It helps protect from UV rays, so no matter what your eyes are protected. The night lenses do reduce glare and indistinguishable light halos. But again, since I use my prescription glasses at night, I can’t really vouch for my Eagle Eyes for night use.

The one downside to the glasses is that they work so well you kind of become dependent on them. Blue light causes the body to suppress the body’s secretion of melatonin, the hormone that regulates your sleep-wake cycles (It also does a lot of other things to affect the body, which you can find out about in this great Eagle Eyes article about blue light.) Wearing the glasses allows the body to produce more melatonin and get to sleep faster and have a higher quality of sleep. After wearing them Monday-Friday, my body adjusts to the new levels of melatonin. So on Saturday/Sunday when I don’t wear the glasses, my body is not accustomed to the amount of blue light/melatonin, and I can’t sleep until about 3 or 4am. I didn’t notice it at first, because I’ve had fairly busy weekends, but after a quiet weekend in, I’ve noticed the difficulties I’ve had getting to sleep. It is by no means a fault of the glasses and strongly attests to the effects blue light has.

The Eagle Eyes TV Kit is easily my favorite blue blocker glasses to date. They provide the most noticeable effects of blue blockers lenses, as well as the most instant benefits. They also have the most comfortable smaller frames I’ve worn in a while, which is a very personal problem, but one that I always have to take into consideration because of the size of my head. I can’t praise the Eagle Eyes blue blocking effects enough, more mental clarity after work, more relaxed eyes, and better sleep. The more relaxed eyes is a weird sensation to describe because it’s something you probably wouldn’t notice because you’re so used to having strained eyes. The downside is, once you’re used to the benefits of the blue blockers, it’s a harsh contrast to life without them.  If you’re looking to take better care of your eyes, and want to experience what life is like with a much healthier amount of blue light, Be sure to get a set of Eagle Eyes. My Eagle Eyes review gets a 5/5.
