The official True Story trailer shows the audiences a world where the world’s biggest comedian could lose his career after one careless night
Netflix debuts the official True Story trailer and appears to portray a dramatic version of a Kevin Hart story. True Story stars Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes as Kid and Carlton. Kid is the most famous comedian in the world on a tour stop in his hometown of Philadelphia. After one careless night partying with his brother Carlton, Kid stands to lose his entire life and career because of the scandal that ensues.
Kevin Hart is not unfamiliar with scandal. This series seems like it is a great match for Hart and one he can pour real-life experience into. That being said, Hart has always approached any scandal directly, which is not what his character Kid appears to be doing. This could also be a double bluff and Kevin Hart could secretly be sharing “true story” with True Story. Hart being great in his dramatic series debut might cause people to think the events of the series are real. With the series also being executive produced by Eric Newman (Narcos, Narcos:Mexico), expectations for a gripping and realistic fictional series are high.
True Story premieres globally on Netflix on November 24, 2021. Continue reading below for some first look photos and official series information from Netflix.
