Today brings good news for fans of movies that are long on style and short on substance as it has been revealed that a third installment of Tron will begin filming this fall in Vancouver. VancityBuzz, a Vancouver blog, was the first to report that Tron 3 was, in fact, filming in Vancouver, stating that Garrett Hedlund was the only cast member to return at present. Following up on that report, Devin Faraci at Badass Digest was able to confirm that Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski would be returning as well.
For me, this news is a big yawn. Tron: Legacy was a dud and bringing back its star and director doesn’t exactly bring a renewed sense of optimism. But, hey, if you are excited for a third Tron movie, soak it up. It’s your day in the sun, or computer. One thing is for sure, Disney is dumping out a ton of quarters to hit continue.
