Although 2016 has already brought us great titles such as Firewatch and Layers of Fear, there looks to be no let-up in the gaming action, as there are a string of highly-anticipated titles that promise to deliver the best gaming year so far.

So from action-adventure sagas to user-friendly online pokies games, here are just a handful of titles that could be occupying a large part of your time in 2016.

One of the biggest titles to come to the PlayStation 4 in 2016 is definitely Uncharted 4. This follows the fortune-hunting exploits of star character Nathan Drake as he comes out of retirement to try and find a mythical pirate treasure. Despite an endless series of delays, it’s hoped that the game will finally be released on 10 May and will allow gamers to experience the fun of player-controlled dialogue options alongside a range of new characters and combat moves.

Few titles seem to truly offer the chance to realize the open-world potential of next-gen consoles as much as the long-awaited No Man’s Sky. The PS4 and Windows title will finally be launched on 21 June and its creator has stated that the infinite gaming possibilities of the MMO offer a refreshing antidote to the previously-formulaic gaming blockbusters.

PS4 and Xbox One fans can look forward to the return of the highly-stylised Final Fantasy RPG game when the fifteenth edition of the series lands later this year. It will mark nearly thirty years since the Final Fantasy series emerged out of Tokyo and many gamers will be keen to see how the game competes with the endlessly changing gaming environment.

However, it’s been proven that even traditional games such as these new online pokies at Lucky Nugget Casino can find a brand new lease of life in the 21st century arena thanks to the site’s user-friendly implementation of mobile gaming technology to offer convenience as opposed to the more elaborate gaming facets of its next-gen cousins such as Final Fantasy XV.

Another Japanese gaming classic that’s hoping to see new life in 2016 is The Legend of Zelda which should come to the Wii U later this summer. This promises to answer accusations that Nintendo is in trouble by delivering some surprising new features which could even make it a flagship game for the highly-anticipated Nintendo NX.

And with Nintendo aiming to take on the online pokies mobile boom with the introduction of the brand’s first mobile game, 2016 looks to be a fantastic year for gaming.
