Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT): Mutant Madness is available now on iOS and Android
New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game? I’m in. Not even a question, no hesitation. While I’m not the biggest mobile gamer, for TMNT I am more than willing to let it take up space in my phone. Kongregate teams up with Nickelodeon to launch this new Mobile RPG TMNT: Mutant Madness. It’s based on the classic 1980’s animated series, combining RPG and idle elements to create a fully immersive experience.
From the trailer, the music and the art style have me pretty hyped. I’m unsure how to feel about being able to play as bad guys, as I just want to roll with the turtles and maybe throw in Casey, April, or Splinter. But, they also had Super Irma, and how can you say no to that? However, the ability to collect and have the bad guys on your team makes for some unique combinations, but also adds way more chase and collection for my personal tastes. Then there’s “the meta” that always happens. But it’s pretty typical of mobile games.
Anyway, the game is available now on iOS and Android. If you want pics from the game and more information instead of playing the game, read the official press release from Kongregate below:
San Francisco (September 17, 2020) – Kongregate, a leading developer of mobile free-to-play games, today announced that TMNT: Mutant Madness is now available for free download on the App Store and Google Play. In partnership with Nickelodeon, the latest collaboration to feature the teenage Turtles, Mutant Madness lets fans of the 1987 animated series continue where the original story left off.
Developed by Kongregate’s Chicago-based studio, Synapse, TMNT: Mutant Madness is a unique approach to the franchise with exciting real-time combat, letting players take a more hands on approach to fighting classic villains on the streets and in the sewers of New York City. With a deep character collection system, fans will be able to build their ultimate squad of heroes (and villains!) to face off against powerful bosses in PvE (player versus environment) and other players in PvP (player versus player) modes. Players will be able to take advantage of unique character “Super Skills” and direct the combat for a truly immersive experience.
“Our team in Chicago has done an amazing job building franchises for Kongregate, with their smash CCG hit Animation Throwdown: The Quest for Cards and now TMNT: Mutant Madness,” said Markus Lipp, CFO and Interim CEO at Kongregate. “We know fans will love the engaging combat in Mutant Madness and the deep collection systems. We can’t stop playing and know they won’t either. I’m very excited to continue bringing our uniquely ‘Kongregate’ creativity to the mobile games market through our growing franchise titles!”
“Kongregate’s innovative approach to creating a new take on the TMNT universe captures the excitement and nostalgia of the franchise in a new way,” said Adrian Wright, VP Games, Nickelodeon. “With TMNT: Mutant Madness, players have the opportunity to collect and play with fan-favorite classic characters in an engaging gameplay experience.”
Players can start building their squads of classic heroes and villains today on iOS and Android devices. Cowabunga!
