New York-based game studio partners with pioneering multimedia collective SeaLegacy to bring the group’s innovative ocean-saving initiatives to gamers through Jupiter & Mars
Eco-focused video game studio Tigertron today announced a collaboration with SeaLegacy, a pioneering, globally active environmental organization, to share the group’s unique brand of photography and film-driven storytelling initiatives through special, unlockable content in Tigertron’s upcoming PlayStation 4/PlayStation VR game, Jupiter & Mars, which is playable for the first time anywhere this weekend at BitSummit Vol. 6, the independent gaming festival in Kyoto, Japan.
“SeaLegacy––via in the efforts of co-founders Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier––is incredible at raising awareness and inspiring change through their stunning photography, which reveals the fragile state of our planet. They further articulate this messaging at high impact events around the world, like TED Talks, and other conferences. We thought we could help boost this signal by inviting them to be a part of Jupiter & Mars, and hopefully help them reach an entirely new, socially active audience,” said James Mielke, the creative director for Tigertron. “Healthy oceans equal a healthy planet––oceans are not an inexhaustible resource––and we encourage anyone interested in helping the creatures that inhabit it to begin by exploring SeaLegacy’s community, The Tide.”

Jupiter & Mars is a groundbreaking new video game for PlayStation 4 and PSVR, which puts players in the role of dolphins Jupiter and her companion, Mars, as they explore five distinct “biomes,” such as tropical islands and sunken underwater cities. With the help of a group of ancient whales called The Elders, Jupiter and Mars navigate a future Earth where mankind has disappeared, forcing the dolphins to confront and solve the after-effects of man’s industrial legacy. Set in spectacular oceanic environments, Jupiter & Mars is an audio/visual feast for the senses that aims to entertain gamers worldwide and inspire the video gaming community with its story and message.
Jupiter & Mars is tentatively set for worldwide release this summer.
