Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok has hit over $845 million, keeping the Disney/Marvel movie titans chugging along. In the third installment, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is imprisoned on the other side of the universe by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and must do battle against his long time fellow Avenger, The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). The two must escape with the help of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) in order to save Asgard from Thor’s sister, Hela (Cate Blanchett) who desires to bring about Ragnarok and the end of existence as everyone knows it.
The movie also features Tom Hiddleston, who returns as Loki to do some harm and begrudgingly some good as well to save the Nine Realms.
Thor: Ragnarok is by far the best of the trilogy and one of the top five best Marvel movies along with Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Black Panther (which is currently in theaters).
As much as I loved the movie, I did get tired of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song and hoped for AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, after all, Hemsworth and AC/DC are both Australian.
Chris Hemsworth proves that he’s funnier than Paul Rudd, as captivating as Robert Downey Jr. and equally heroic as Chris Evans. Teaming him up with Ruffalo was the perfect balance of action and comedy this movie needed and I know I’m going to watch it multiple times in the next few weeks.
