Having successfully become one of the breakout comedy stars of the year, Jason Statham has left The Transporter series behind. But fear not, devotees to the bone-crunching chaos, as Ed Skrein steps into the role of Frank Martin. the world’s best transporter. The Transporter Refueled is directed by Camille Delamarre and co-written by Transporter creator Luc Besson. Delamarre has been the editor on many of Besson’s recent productions, so that doesn’t necessarily indicate that The Transporter Refueled will feature visually coherent action. However, Besson’s involvement does promise the film will feature a certain level of insanity — that could go either way depending on your own affection or distaste for Besson’s absurd tendencies. Old franchises die hard when The Transporter Refueled opens on September 4th, 2015.
