‘A Knight’s War‘ from DREAD takes us on a mystical journey of medieval fantasy with Matthew and Jeremy Ninaber and lead actress, Kristen Kaster.
Epic Pictures’ specialty horror label DREAD presents ‘A Knight’s War‘, a gripping tale of loyalty and sacrifice. The film follows Bhodie (Jeremy Ninaber), a knight of uncertain lineage but unwavering devotion, who embarks on a dangerous quest to retrieve the corrupted soul of the chosen one from the perilous realm of the fallen. The film is now available to rent or purchase on video-on-demand (VOD), and releases in a limited theatrical run starting today, February 11, 2025, with Black Fawn Distribution acquired the
Canadian rights.
We spoke with brothers and co-stars Matthew and Jeremy Ninaber, along with starlet Kristen Kaster, about the production, which took place in the dead of a Canadian winter. The filmmakers relied on natural light, practical effects, and special effects to create an authentic, immersive atmosphere. In our conversation we joked with

Co-financed by Epic Pictures as a DREAD original, in association with High Rise Studio, ‘A Knight’s War‘ is executive produced by Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald.
The film marks the fourth collaboration between the Ninaber brothers, as writer-director Matthew Ninaber—best known for his role in ‘Psycho Goreman‘ and the film ‘Death Valley‘—returning to his roots, filming parts of ‘A Knight’s War‘, in his own backyard. All sets were built by hand, reflecting the dedication to craftsmanship that went into the project.
