The Invincible Drive-Thru Experience Was Incredible

The Invincible Drive-Thru Experience, hosted by Amazon Prime Video, was a fun and incredible way to premiere the series

Invincible Drive-Thru

Amazon Prime Video is notorious for hosting incredible experiences. The Invincible Drive-Thru Experience was the latest in their fully immersive pop-ups that encompass viewers into the world of one of their original series. What is even more impressive, is that they’ve adapted and mastered a format perfect for these socially distanced times, a drive-thru.

The experience begins by driving on the lot of the Rosebowl right past the glorious Invcincible statue/signage. It’s a lot like the sign of a rollercoaster, which works emotionally, but thankfully your vehicle won’t experience any ups and downs. You then drive to receive your gift bag from some agents of the Global Defense Commission. These agents are dressed for duty and have a pretty cool van that appears to fully equipped for surveillance.

After ensuring your vehicle is free of threat, you drive through the Invincible arch into Art Rosenbaum’s Tailor Shop. There, Art talks about the world of Invincible and the art of making costumes for the world’s heroes. He even gives us an up-close and fiery demonstration of the art and efficiency of his work by showing off Rex Splode’s costume’s durability.

Following the explosive demonstration, your car is lifted into the air by Mark Grayson himself. This moment is captured in a picture and sent to your phone so you can cherish it forever. Just to clarify, you drive into a large photobooth made to look like Invincible is lifting your car as he flies through the skies. I mean I’m sure it’s obvious it’s a photobooth in the picture, as you can see, I missed the mark a bit, so wanted to clarify.

Invincible Drive-Thru

And before reaching the big screen, we make a quick stop to Burger Mart where you receive an Invincible Burger or an Omni-Vegan Burger.  I have to say, Burger Mart employees seem like the type who won’t tell you the ice cream machine doesn’t work. I ordered the Invincible Burger, which was pretty good. I can’t say it’s good enough for Burger Mart to crossover and take over our fast-food burger chains, but it was satisfying and fresher than most. It was like a really good burger from a company picnic. Plus, the entire event was free, so a good burger at that price easily becomes great.

After picking up your food, you are guided into a parking spot safely distanced from others, and poised and ready to watch the Invincible premiere. Before the series began, we were treated with some promos for the series and other Amazon originals. But what is most intriguing is that we are given a number to call in order to enter a giveaway for signed copies of Invincible comics. Personally, if you choose not to enter I’d be happy because it increases my chances, but I provided the number for you in the pics below so do what you must. The last thing I want to mention, which really takes the experience over the top, is that while watching there was ambient lighting to reflect the program as well as some effects. Particularly, during THAT scene in the first episode, everything goes red and our cars were splashed with water in perfect sync to a certain explosion. It really engulfs you into the moment.

The Invincible Drive-Thru Experience was another incredible, immersive, and entertaining activation from the Amazon Prime Video team. They wonderfully recreated a piece of the world from their new original series, Invincible, that not only was a lot of fun to be a part of, but also gave you everything you could want to enjoy a program on the big screen; popcorn, chips, candy, soda, and a burger. They also gave you some swag to take away, like a mask and hand sanitizer. Lastly, they elevate the viewing experience with ambient and practical effects. The series is fantastic and doesn’t need the special effects, but having them did manage to somehow make the experience even better. If you see an opportunity to attend any Amazon Experience I highly recommend you attend. The only downside, the experience wasn’t longer. But I could just be greedy. I give the Invincible Drive-Thru Experience a 5/5

The first four episodes of Invincible are streaming now on Amazon Prime Video with new episodes premiering on Fridays.
