The Black Lodge is reopening. In a bit of awesome news, one of television’s most beloved and obsessed over series’ is about to make a comeback. David Lynch himself began propagating rumors on Twitter recently:

And now Deadline have confirmed that yes, Twin Peaks will be returning as a Showtime mini-series. The nine episode series should begin production next year, and air in 2016, 25 years after first going off the air. David Lynch and Mark Frost will write the episodes, with Lynch set to direct. The new series will be set in the present day, with the episodes continuing the lore of the mysterious Twin Peaks. Lynch and Frost have promised to provide long-awaited answers and a satisfying conclusion to the cult-favorite series.
It is rumored that many of the original actors will return for this new go-around, including Kyle McLaughlin’s Agent Dale Cooper. Before the series makes its triumphant return, Showtime will air the original two seasons in their entirety. Lynch and Frost first tweeted their cryptic tweets on Friday at 11:30 am, the same time of day that Agent Cooper first came to visit Twin Peaks, and again today tweeted video proof.
Lynch and Frost added, “The mysterious and special world of Twin Peaks is pulling us back. We’re very excited. May the forest be with you.” This is promising news for fans of the phenomenon that is Twin Peaks, and is likely to be the biggest television news in some time.
A new clip from the upcoming season of Arrow gives us our first look at new villain, Vertigo. Character actor Peter Stormare plays what is apparently an acolyte of The Count (Seth Gabel), continuing his villainous work with the drug Vertigo. Arrow’s highly anticipated third season premiere is this Wednesday, October 8th on the CW.
If you’ve been watching Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this season, you’ve probably noticed a different dynamic between Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). After the events of last season Fitz is a shadow of his former self, and Simmons, well, we’ll let them tell you.
