The series will be executive produced by BenderSpink’s Chris Bender, Jake Weiner and producer Jake Wagner, alongside Black Mask’s Matt Pizzolo and Brett Gurewitz. The pilot is being written by Evan Daugherty (Ninja Turtles, Divergent, Snow White and the Huntsman) who will also co-produce.
Black Mask Studios, the company founded by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion), and Matt Pizzolo (Godkiller, Occupy Comics), acquired the film/televison rights to Five Ghosts last year, and has developed the concept for television.
I’ve written about Five Ghosts in the past, and it is absolutely one of my favorite recent comics, as well as being something completely unique it is incredibly well realized. Creators Frank Barbiere and artist Chris Mooneyham should be incredibly proud of the work they’ve done, and they deserve this.
