Despite its fantastical setting reminiscent of Renaissance Faires and filmed in Scotland, ‘Man and Witch: The Dance of a Thousand Steps,’ was not inspired by the 1980s classic song “Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats, which took place in a similar setting. Writer Greg Steinbruner clarified that while both share a fantasy backdrop, the song was not the inspiration for their film.
