Tales of Berseria Update – Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has revealed new characters, details about the story, and game features in the next oeuvre of the Tales of series.
The Tales of series has been going since 1995 with Tales of Phantasia. The series is a millenial. But unlike the general stereotype of millenials (still unsure if I personally fall into the millenial category) it looks promising and seems to be taking the franchise forward in a huge way. The Tales of Berseria update introduces Oscar Dragonia and Teresa Linares who are both praetors of the Abbey, the organization of exorcists. Oscar takes his work very seriously but has a lot of hostility towards daemons. Teresa, his older half-sister, is known as the ‘Frozen Queen’ because she carries out her missions with no sign of emotion. Then there’s a lizard daemon named Dyle who is a member of the shipping guild. He is being chased by the Abbey after he transgressed and experienced the onset of the daemonblight.
The Tales of Berseria update also introduced new combat moves and skills that the game will feature. There will be a new attack type known as ‘Mystic Artes’ which are powerful special attacks that cause mass amounts of damage to enemies with glorious cut in animation. It’s basically a special move of an anime character.
