In the ’50s, Tab Hunter emerged as an up and coming movie star and teenage heartthrob. No matter how much his star rose, he was always keeping a secret from the public eye — his homosexuality. Now a new documentary looks to peel back the veil behind Tab Hunter’s decades in the closet with Tab Hunter Confidential. Directed by Jeffrey Schwarz, Tab Hunter Confidential features interviews with Hunter himself, Robert Wagner, George Takei, Debbie Reynolds, Clint Eastwood, and John Waters, who cast Hunter in one of his most memorable roles opposite of Divine in Polyester.
Tab Hunter Confidential opens on October 16th in New York and October 30th in Los Angeles, and certainly looks to be a healthy mix of old-timey celebrity gossip and earnest confessional.
