Street Fighter V Reveals Story Details in New Trailer

Street Fighter V will introduce a cinematic story experience for the first time in the Street Fighter franchise. This is huge addition to fans of the franchise as players usually had to go outside the games to get the full story. I personally spent quite a bit of money on the Udon Comics, and am wondering where I put those comics as they are a great read and offer a deep experience of the Street Fighter universe.

Street Fighter V‘s story elements will be unique to each character. This means that every play through will be a relatively unique experience. The cool part about this, aside from getting to see each characters’ points of view and their role in the grand scheme, is the added replay value this gives to the game. I forgot the exact number of characters, but that means plays will have over 20+ reasons to play the game through. Many fighting games have attempted to do similar things, like Smash Bros with their trophies and character scores, but it’s really a shallow trinket to force play rather than reward players for using every character.

Street_Fighter_V_character_story_-_chun-liStreet Fighter V‘s story is only just the beginning. This is what I Feel is the most intriguing part of the announcement. The character stories serve as a prologue to the summer update which will bridge the gap between Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV. The best part about all of this news is that it is all free! If you remember from the previous update, all characters can be unlocked via in game currency called “Fight Money”, and playing through a character’s story will earn you Fight Money. Not only do you get a piece of the story, but also some Fight Money to help unlock more characters. This is a refreshing and welcomed feature that really caters to the gamers rather than drain from their wallets.
