In 1971 graduate students at Stanford University, led by Dr. Phillip Zimbardo, created an experiment; a two week long psych study using students as guards and inmates in a simulated prison to examine where violence and abusive behavior originate in the prison system. They had no idea how wrong it would all go, nor how quickly. IFC Films presents the award winning The Stanford Prison Experiment, a new film dramatizing the events that shocked the world, as mere students became power hungry sadists and submissive victims in just a few short days. The movie stars Olivia Thirlby, Ezra Miller, Jesse Carere, Billy Crudup, Keir Gilchrist, and Thomas Mann, and directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez, with participation by Dr. Zimbardo himself.
The Stanford Prison Experiment is in theaters on July 17th, and on VOD July 24th.
