The original copy for Bloodshot: Reborn #1 that featured alongside advance previews wasn’t very spoilery, nor was the art. Panels were left mostly blank in some instances, with some panels censored completely, and now we know why. Big spoilers ahead.
Following Jeff Lemire’s torturous run on The Valiant, a depowered Bloodshot is living in a motel, drinking his life away. Haunted by the violence he’s brought about, he is visited by a strange figure. A strange figure drawn by Lemire himself. A hallucinatory cartoon version of himself called Bloodsquirt.
Lemire will be sharing art duties with Mico Suayan for the foreseeable future, as Valiant tells us this isn’t the last we’ll see of Bloodsquirt, and that there will be more Bloodsquirt news in the future. Could this be the break out character find of 2015? Could Bloodsquirt be getting his own series? Could Bloodshot: Reborn be the weirdest book Valiant publishes? Probably yes to all three.
Thanks to Bleeding Cool for the heads up.
