Maybe it was a sign of things to come but the Spider-Man stage literally came UNDER fire as one of the lights blew out overhead.

FanboyNation reporter Joseph Evans provided these photos where the fire started and sent in this statement:
It was a fire up in the lighting area that caused them to pause the showcase. Someone walkied the guys behind the sound set up that there was a fire, and then everyone noticed the smoke. They continued for a few minutes after spotting it but then they paused and brought the lighting people in, pulled down the light bar and everything to put it out.

No one was hurt and they will resume shortly once all the lighting fixtures are set. Gaming Editor, Kevin Fenix joked that it was to tease a Human Torch Co-Op of the game as the two are rivals within the comics.
