We may not know just what is going to go down in Avengers: Endgame, but it looks like everything works out fine for Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) as they headline the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the sequel to 2016’s smash hit Spider-Man: Homecoming. Director Jon Watts returns to helm a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the scribes also having worked on Homecoming and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The adventure sees Spidey going overseas where he’ll encounter one of his most infamous foes from the comics in Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). However, the plot of the film aside from its international adventures is mostly kept under wraps in the trailer. Also returning from Homecoming in Far From Home are Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first MCU adventure after the epic resolution of Avengers: Endgame. Details may be kept under wraps on the fourth Avengers film but we can at least surmise that our favorite web-slinger and the famed super-spy Nick Fury will rise from the ashes of Thanos’ destructive snap. We’ll know what’s in store for Spidey when Spider-Man: Far From Home opens in theaters this summer on July 5, 2019.
