After a successful world premier at Tribeca, Sarah Carter’s directorial debut ‘In Her Name‘ comes to San Diego International Film Festival.
Following a a successful world premier and winning the Audience Award at Tribeca Film Festival, Sarah Carter’s directorial debut ‘In Her Name‘ comes to San Diego International Film Festival tonight!
Carter, who is transitioning behind the camera, makes a powerful statement between two sisters Freya (Erin Hammond) and Fiona (Ciera Danielle) who have lived very separate lives but are forced to reunited in order to help their ailing father, Marv (Phillipe Caland).
Marv is a formerly famous artist that has lost his fortune and more recently his wife in a dramedy that somewhat satirizes the Los Angeles art scene.
Carter said in our interview that ‘In Her Name‘ was a collaborative effort between herself and the leads, while bringing in experiences of trama from her own life and introspective attitudes after having travelled the world as an actress.
Do not be remissed as Carter has not fully transitioned behind the camera yet as she has a co-staring role in ‘In Her Name‘. She will also be seen in the upcoming ‘Noseratu’ remake as Ellen.
Official Synopsis:
Frustrated, aspiring artist Freya has put her career on hold to care for her formerly famous artist dad. When her estranged, well-heeled sister Fiona shows up, the sisters grapple with the impending demise of their famous artist father. Finding themselves back in the house they grew up in, the sisters are forced to navigate their eccentric father as well as the new-agey hippies and groupies that flock around him, all while nursing long simmering resentments and sibling rivalry. And the big question remains: who is to be the benefactor of their father’s substantial estate?
