You know what’s nice to type? Academy Award-winner Sam Rockwell. Forgive me if I use that phrasing to excess in this post because Academy Award-winner Sam Rockwell stars opposite Parks and Recreation‘s Ben Schwartz in the upcoming crime comedy Blue Iguana. The premise of writer-director Hadi Hajaig‘s film is of Rockwell and Schwartz as two small-time American criminals who are trying to make good only to have a British lawyer (Phoebe Fox) offer them a simple job in London. Only it’s ain’t so simple.
The pairing of Rockwell and Schwartz seems like a match made in heaven as each is capable of pulling off high-energy nonsense that should feed of each other naturally. Hadi Hajaig’s crime comedy looks to have shades of Guy Ritchie‘s Snatch, but perhaps all similarities are simply a marketing ploy. Either way, I can’t wait to see what this inept duo will pull off when Blue Iguana opens in theaters on August 24, 2018.
The official synopsis for Blue Iguana:
Small time New York crooks Eddie and Paul are in over their heads when a cute London lawyer hires them to fly to London and steal a rare jewel. Meanwhile, a mullet-haired gangster wants the gem for himself. Bullets and sparks fly in this pond-hopping comedic caper.
