GameStop, Inc.

Rock Legends Starship and Foghat perform live at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of rock at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, September 15, 2024! The stage will come alive with two iconic acts: Starship, featuring original member Mickey Thomas, and Foghat. This event promises to be a rock enthusiast’s dream, celebrating the evolution and enduring appeal of these legendary bands.

Starship, with its roots tracing back to Jefferson Airplane of the 1960s, evolved into Jefferson Starship in the 1970s and ultimately became Starship in the 1980s. Jefferson Airplane was a cornerstone of the San Francisco psychedelic scene, while Jefferson Starship transitioned to a more mainstream rock style. As Starship, the band embraced a polished, radio-friendly sound, delivering anthems like “We Built This City,” “Sara,” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” Mickey Thomas, who first made his mark in 1976 as the lead vocalist on the mega-hit “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” with The Elvin Bishop Band, joined Jefferson Starship in 1979. After the departure of Grace Slick and Marty Balin, Thomas became the lead vocalist and recorded a string of hits including “Jane,” “No Way Out,” “Find Your Way Back,” “Stranger,” and “Layin’ It On the Line.” His powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence will bring a touch of authenticity and nostalgia to the night.

Foghat, known for their distinctive blend of Southern Rock and blues, will also light up the stage with their energetic performance. Emerging in the 1970s, Foghat became a defining force in Southern Rock with hits such as “Slow Ride,” “Drivin’ Wheel,” and “Third Time Lucky (First Time I Was a Fool).” Their recent album, *Sonic Mojo*, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues chart, reflects their continued influence and relevance.

On September 15, 2024, the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts will be the epicenter of rock nostalgia and energy, featuring Mickey Thomas leading Starship and Foghat delivering their signature Southern Rock sound. Don’t miss this chance to experience live performances from rock legends in a night filled with powerful performances and unforgettable moments!
