Rambo is Back! And He’s Getting the 4K Treatment!

GameStop, Inc.

Very few things get me to pop off the couch with excitement, but when Rambo was announced to get the 4K treatment AND was getting an extended cut, 6-year-old me was as giddy as seeing Rambo: First Blood Part II. Don’t judge my parents, they were from war torn countries, surviving religious persecution…but I digress — I was hella excited because I loved the first two Rambo movies.

Now Lionsgate, releases the 4K extended cut in preparation for Rambo: Last Blood on September 20, 2019, just 18 days after this one drops!

The King of the Franchises, Sylvester Stallone is back as John Rambo, this time after helping the Afghanis against the Soviet invasion. Yeah, remember that piece of history when the U.S. was friends with the Taliban against the Russians? That’s how fast things change in politics! Okay, okay, getting back to Rambo IV —

John Rambo is now living in Burma leading a group of Christian missionaries through the war torn country as they follow the teachings of the Lord in helping the less fortunate. Unfortunately, one of them let his pride get in the way, allowing for his deep fall in waiting for the resurrection of the final judgment, getting his fiance and fellow believers capture. Now Rambo and a group of mercenaries hired by the head pastor of the missionary group to get his flock out of hell’s grasp.

War is definitely Hell and Rambo has seen his fair share of problems since Vietnam, but the man who wants to live in solitude keeps getting pulled back in because like it or not, he’s still a good person trying to help those in need, even if violence is required.

Rambo definitely makes up for Rambo III the same way Rocky Balboa made up for Rocky V and if Rambo: Last Blood follows the formula that made Creed a success, we are in for a treat this fall!

Rambo comes to 4K and Blu-ray Combo Pack on Tuesday, September 2, 2019.
