Quantum and Woody! #4

Art by: Kano
Release Date: 03/21
Quantum and Woody are on their way to Australia. With them is a female clone of Thomas Edison, and their pilot is Thedge the Hedge, a living bush thing. Also, Quantum is a well trained soldier who can make force fields, and woody can make force blasts. And it’s important to note that they both have arm bands they have to klang together, or they disappear. There’s plenty more I left out so that I won’t spoil the fun in QUANTUM AND WOODY! # 4.
In QUANTUM AND WOODY! # 4, Daniel Kibblesmith writes an irreverent tale feels like a journey into the absurd, while maintaining a buddy cop feel. Kibblesmith I think was channeling some Mel Brooks when writing this. It’s one thing to be funny, but to be funny on purpose and have people laugh at what you want them to laugh at is another. So hats off to Daniel for writing a genuinely funny book. Now with the funny business aside, I’d like to talk about the nitty gritty of the book. It’s pacing was fast and fun. The dialogue was…well funny. Then there was the action which was just right. QUANTUM AND WOODY! # 4 benefited from a great artist as well, Kano. From page architecture and panel design, Kano gets it right. There’s a lot of hard work that goes into a good comic book, and it shows here.
Overall QUANTUM AND WOODY! # 4 is an easy recommendation to make. This book has plenty of charisma and hooks to keep you interested. If you haven’t read the first three books do not worry. The first page brings you up to speed, plus I think it merits as a stand alone, even though technically its not. This is another title that people should add to their pull list. Oh and did I mention this book has a goat in it?
