Powercast releases over-the-air Wireless Charging Grip for Nintendo Joy-Con Controllers on Amazon
Powercast is changing the game with their new over-the-air Wireless Charging Grip. The Wireless Charging Grip allows players to wireless charge their Nintendo Joy-Con controllers for the Nintendo Switch. I’m a huge fan of inductive charging, but wireless charging is new and changing the game. The way it works is you put your Joy-Cons into the grip and leave it near the PowerSpot Wireless Transmitter. The PowerSpot sends the to the controllers and then you’re good to go. This is incredible technology and a huge step up on the convenience factor. This is the world’s first gaming product that charges over the air, with no wires and charging mats. I am in absolute awe and dumbstruck to test this out.
Aside from the incredible tech, the grip looks egonomically designed. I’m hoping it’s designed for bigger hands in mind. I’m also really intrigued by the aesthetic of the PowerSpot. The lights help guide placement of the grips for optimal charging. Green means fast charging, yellow moderate, red means get closer. While I do enjoy a good light show, I would like to know there’s an option to be dark or dim once the charging has begun. There’s also an APP that lets you monitor the charging status of the grip and other PowerSpot-enabled devices. That means there will be more PowerSpot enabled items!
The Wireless Charging Grip has got me extremely excited for the future of game accessories. Power mats are cool and all, but wireless is always where it’s at.
