The world premiere of ‘Pay Dirt‘ was held in Anaheim, California, right in time for the launch of the Supercross season. The event was a fitting backdrop for a film that showcases both the raw intensity of Supercross and the broader cultural impact of the sport. In creating the film, Taublieb worked closely with FELD Entertainment, the company behind Supercross as well as Monster Jam. Their collaboration ensured that the documentary remained true to the sport’s authenticity while also embracing the showmanship that has come to define FELD’s other high-profile productions, including Ringling Bros. Circus.
The documentary reflects FELD Entertainment‘s dual focus on honoring the rich history of Supercross and expanding its audience by showcasing the dramatic personalities and unforgettable moments of the sport. The film emphasizes the incredible physicality and passion of the athletes, while also pulling back the curtain on the business, rivalry, and even criminal elements behind the scenes.
Brolin, known for his roles in ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ and his memoir ‘From Under the Truck‘, wasn’t immediately on board to narrate the film. It took time to convince him, but through his growing friendship with Taublieb, Brolin agreed to lend his voice to the project. His powerful narration adds an extra layer of intensity to this thrilling story.
