Noah James Reprises his Role as St. Andrew in ‘The Chosen: Last Supper’ – Interview

Noah James Reprises as his role as St. Andrew the First Called in Season 5 of ‘The Chosen‘ entitled, ‘The Chosen: Last Supper‘ streaming on Prime Video Sunday, June 15, 2025.

On the Feast Day of St. Barnabas, the First of the Seventy Disciples, I had the chance to speak with Noah James, who portrays St. Andrew the First Called in ‘The Chosen‘ franchise. Our conversation unfolded with warmth and humor, especially as we joked that the Season One wrap party really should have been a fishing trip. After all, the apostles were fishermen who became fishers of men, it would’ve only been fitting.

James shared insights into the unique challenge of building St. Andrew’s character in reverse. With the end of the story already well known, the trials, the sacrifice, the martyrdom portraying the earlier, more human aspects of Andrew meant working backwards from what history, the Church and Scripture have already made so clear. It’s a process of layering faith, brotherhood, and internal conflict into a journey that feels both familiar and fresh.

This all leads into the next chapter of the series. ‘The Chosen: Last Supper‘ (Season 5) premiering on Prime Video in the U.S. on Sunday, June 15, 2025. The season will roll out in three parts: episodes 1 and 2 debut June 15, 2025, followed by episodes 3 through 5 on June 22, 2025, and concluding with episodes 6 through 8 on June 29, 2025. In July, viewers in Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America will also have access to the new season.

The Chosen: Last Supper‘ made its theatrical debut in the U.S. on March 28, 2025, and internationally on April 11, 2025, earning nearly $60 million at the box office. With its global theatrical releases over the past three years, The Chosen has grossed almost $140 million in 55 countries.

The Chosen: Last Supper‘ portrays the final, earth-shaking days of Christ’s Earthly life. Welcomed into Jerusalem as a king, he confronts corruption head-on, disrupting the city and its power structures. As religious leaders conspire against Him, Jesus gathers His disciples for one final meal. Meanwhile, in the background, Judas Iscariot makes a fateful decision that will change everything. This is a story of power, faith, betrayal and ultimately, the greatest sacrifice ever made.

The Chosen‘ is a landmark historical drama that tells the story of Jesus Christ through the eyes of those who followed Him. Set during the harsh rule of the Roman Empire in first-century Judea, the series brings to life the hypostasis of Christ in a way that has resonated with over 250 million viewers worldwide. Produced by 5&2 Studios and helmed by creator Dallas Jenkins, the seven-season series continues to be one of the most-watched and beloved depictions of Jesus Christ ever brought to the screen.

The Chosen: Last Supper‘ Part I begins streaming on Prime Video on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
